Hope for African Communities (HAC) is  non governmental organisation registered as  P.V.O(68/207).The founder is Mufaro Mapanda who is currently based in the UK.HAC’s mission is to facilitate social transformation by partnering communities in designing culturally sensitive projects.It seeks to achieve this through facilitating access to eduction ,access to basic needs to orphans and vulnerable children and empowering communities with vocational and life skills

 

HAC is implementing 3 main programmes in Chegutu Rural District in Mashonaland West Province.

These programmes are:

  1. Education Support and Infrastructure Development -the aim is to increase access to eduction to OVCs and create conducive teaching and learning environment for children
  2. Livelihoods and income generating activities(IGAs)- the aim being to increase women’s economic participation and creating enabling environment for female intreprenuers
  3. Psychosocial Support – is aimed to improve social ecology and promoting human capacity

 

HAC’s success stories funded from partners and own sources include:

  • Building three classroom blocks and a library at Zvamaida Primary School in Chegutu ward 28
  • Providing covid 19 PPEs to Zvamaida and Kawara Primary Schools
  • Providing sanitary wear to all girls at Kawara and Zvamaida
  • Distribution of footware, uniforms to orphans and vulnerable children at Kawara Primary
  • Providing soccer and netball kits to Kawara Primary and Mubaira Community
  • Providing five sewing machines to women clubs in Mubaira Community
